BREAKING: MTN Laying Off Over 4000 Workers, Happening Right Now"
According to the reports coming from some of the workers of the MTN in Nigeria on another popular Nigerian forum, many of the MTN workers have rushed down to the website to give an eye witness account of what is going on as we speak at MTN. Read it below
" MTN Nigeria laying off Contract Staff without been paid their full salary. No gratuity, no pension, no thank you mail to people who have spent at least 5years to like 14years or more.
They did the worst last week by telling them to do photocopy of their ID cards and return the main ID'S with the staff left with a sheet of paper without been paid and still expected to work. They also harassed the contract staffs searching them with mobile police armed with guns as if they are criminals. This is outright injustice....
No mails communicated yet on the mode of payment for the 15days they worked as their salary is been calculated from 15th of previous month to 16th of present month, but the remaining days of 16th- 30th september is not paid with their leave days remaining and also unpaid leaves.
According to them, "We call on concerns Nigerians and appropriate authorities to help them fight these course"

Benefits of early morning s*x
Prof. Musa Yakubu of University of Ilorin has said that having s*x in the early morning lowers blood pressure and reduces risks of heart attack.
Yakubu of the Department of Biochemistry made the assertion in a paper, “Knocking Down the Barriers to Four O’Clock Activities and Reproductive Inadequacies”, presented at the 163rd Inaugural lecture of the university on Friday.
He said that having sexual intercourse, three to four times a week, was good for love life.
“Research has shown that s*x boosts immune system by stimulating the body’s first line of defence and production of immunoglobulin A (IgA), against cold and fever,” he said.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that immunoglobulin A is one of the most common antibodies in the body system.
Antibodies are proteins made by the immune system to fight bacteria, viruses, and toxins.
Yakubu said that s*x also regulates menstruation in women by influencing the levels of lutenizing hormones that controls menstrual period and promote better sleep.
According to him, the act of sexual intercourse also release the feel-good chemical, known as oxytocin, which enhances closeness with one’s partner and makes people feel happier for a longer period of time.
“Lovemaking of about 20 minutes reduces 150 calories,” he said.
The professor of Biochemistry postulated that s*x is the most powerful creative force given to human by God for pleasure and deep companionship.
Yakubu, however, noted that any marriage in which the man or woman could not enjoy sexual intercourse or satisfy their partner in bed was a dead marriage.
He said that lack of sexual satisfaction had led to the collapse of many marriages in Nigeria, and urged couples to seek for solutions to the problem.
“Sexual and reproductive dysfunctions are common among men and women in Nigeria, which necessitates regular screening and check-ups,” he said.
He also said that traditional medicines had been authenticated to cure sexual dysfunctions. (NAN)

‘I really want to lift titles at Manchester United, the Premier League is a trophy I have never won, but I believe we can do it with this group.

The increase of beggars in ilorin is getting alarming
Residents of Ilorin, the Kwara State capital, have decried the increase in the number of the beggars on the streets.
The beggars include able-bodied youth, artisans, old women, pregnant women, civil servants and children who lurk around commercial centres in the city to survive the economic hardship in the country.
Investigations revealed that these beggars, including ‘corporately dressed’ people, now hang around strategic places in the metropolis, especially ATM points, to beg for financial assistance.
A trader at the open market at Yoruba Road, Tayo Ibikunle, told PREMIUM TIMES that the menace of begging needs to be addressed urgently by the government before it gets out of hand.
“In the past, those we used to see around the market and by the roadside were physically challenged beggars but these days, there are many able bodied men and women begging people for money. The situation is pathetic,” she said.
A postgraduate student of the University of Ilorin, Elufowora Lateef, also lamented the situation, calling on government at all levels to find lasting solution to the economic situation in the country.
“In Ilorin, almost everyone is now a beggar. At ATM points, motor parks, food canteens, mosques, churches, almost everywhere,” he said.
A civil servant, who pleaded anonymity, revealed that the economic recession is a major contributor to the menace of street begging in the metropolis. He said the situation is made worse by the non-payment of workers’ salaries. He said,
“Things are hard and people are suffering. The government needs to do something,” he said.
“Many of these ‘corporate beggars’ you see around are civil servants who have not been paid their salaries for months. They are suffering and dying.”
Another trader at Challenge electronics market, Chibuzor Ezeh, decried what he called the ‘highhandedness’ of the beggars.
He revealed that many of the beggars even resort to harassment and intimidation when begging for money.
“These ‘corporate beggars’ have become desperate; when you tell them you don’t have money these days, they will harass you in public.
“The implication of this sad development is that this economic recession is real. The situation of things in this country is really bad and something must be done by our government because the people are very hungry,” he said.
Investigations by our correspondent revealed that the worst hit areas in the metropolis include Challenge, Post Office, Tipper Garage, Geri-Alimi, Oja Oba, Murtala way and Maraba.

President Obama is So Cool, See What he Did to Welcome Olympic Heroes To The White House
President Barack Obama attempted the splits with the United States' Olympic gymnastics team at the White House on Thursday. Hundreds of Olympic athletes clad in red Nike track jackets squeezed into the East Room of the White House as rainy weather forced the reception indoors. "I want you to know that I was going to do, like, a floor routine on the way out with Simone," he joked in front of the Olympic and Paralympic teams. "But we decided it was a little too crowded." "And he can't touch his toes," First Lady Michelle Obama mentioned. "And I can't touch my toes," he admitted as guests laughed. President Obama praised Team USA for winning 46 gold medals and for making the United States the first country in 40 years to top the medal chart in every category.

Suspended Abdulmumin Jibrin Gives Lawmakers 3 Days Ultimatum to Return N10m They Shared
In an official statement on Thursday, the suspended member of the House of Representatives, Abdulmumin Jibrin, has issued 1-week ultimatum to his colleagues who may have “illegally taken or stolen any money” to return it to the clerk of the National Assembly or risk being exposed. The suspended former chairman of committee on appropriations, said in the face of the country’s economic challenges, there was no better time to return such monies, adding that for the principal officers, he had given them a 72-hour ultimatum to make public the total amount they received as running cost in their entire stay at the house.
The statement read in part:
Quote
“I wish to draw your attention to the fact that since you suspended me yesterday and the suggestion of the ethics committee report that my allegations were generalised and without proof, I have come under intense public scrutiny and pressure to prove that there exists systemic corruption in the house. “I have taken it as a responsibility to prove to the public that the House is a den of systemic corruption. As colleagues, I have bound with many of you and built a life long friendship.
“I have some of you that I hold in high esteem. If you end up at the receiving end of the actions I will be taking up in the next few days, I want you to know there is nothing personal but commitment and fervent desire to ensure that corruption is wiped out of the house and reforms that will restore the battered image of the house and take back the house to the Nigerian people are implemented.
“Consequent upon the above and before I proceed with the aggressive steps I intend to take, I hereby demand that if you have illegally taken or stolen any money meant for the running cost of your offices for the entire stay in the house, you should return it within one week to the clerk of the national assembly and for the purpose of clarity, I am referring to about N10 million you collect from tax payers monies monthly. “The clerk will provide you with official account details, failure to which I will take necessary action to ensure that you return any money stolen and stand witness against you in case of prosecution.
“I have written to the Clerk of the National Assembly to stand by in anticipation. In the face of the revenue challenges and biting hardship the country is currently facing, there is no better time the country needs such money than now.
“In the case of the Presiding and Principal Officers, in addition to my demand in this letter which applies to them too, I have written them yesterday and gave them 72 hours ultimatum to make public the total amount they have received as running cost in their entire stay in the House, failure of which I will proceed with necessary legal action to compel them to make the total amount each of them have received public.
“There are other issues of monumental corruption in the House that I will be raising in the following weeks which we must all deal with, but first lets get done with this one.”

"I Was Never Paid For Doing The Oleku Song For Ice Prince In Chocolate City" - Brymo
Singer, Brymo, has revealed he was never paid for his part in Oleku, a song owned by former label mate, Ice Prince. The ‘Alajo Somolu‘ crooner, said he was never paid by his then label, Chocolate City for the song.
He said:
“Remember Oleku right? I got no award for it. I was a fool, there was no contract”. Speaking further, he said, as at that time, he was so broke, he basically lived off M.I another ex-label mate, who happens to be the president of Chocolate City now.
“Oleku was a pro-bono work for Chocolate City. I felt maybe because I didn’t have a contract and I was new, it was my trial period. So I signed a contract in April 2011 but nothing changed. The label didn’t provide money for upfront project recordings. “But there’s always a way out of that. There are other musicians on the label. MI was the first to blow up and he had gotten a place. In that period, I was always at MI’s place.”
“In the case of the record label, the contract and the court injunction, it’s a show of shame. People will always smile at you when you do what they want. I was not in court when the injunction was given. If that’s how it is done in law, then we should scrap the entire constitution.“Fortunately, it didn’t last very long. Eventually they removed it. Their aim was to prevent me from putting out my ‘Merchant, Dealers and Slaves’ album.
“Nobody will like it if I go back to Chocolate City. Certain things can never be really mended. You just have to go your separate ways. I’ve had more peace in the last few years”.

A must Read for all that truly love this Nation...
A must Read for all that truly love this Nation...
THIS IS ASSESSMENT ON AN INSTITUTION WITH ALL POLITICAL PARTIES. SO NOT A DISCUSSION ON ANY POLITICAL PARTY. The time to resist this non sense is now:
21 senators currently receiving pensions from government as ex-governors and deputy governors.
The current senators who once served as governors are Bukola Saraki of Kwara, Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso of Kano, Kabiru Gaya of Kano, Godswill Akpabio of Akwa Ibom, Theodore Orji of Abia, Abdullahi Adamu of Nasarawa, Sam Egwu of Ebonyi, Shaaba Lafiagi of Kwara, Joshua Dariye of Plateau Jonah Jang of Plateau, Aliyu Magatakarda Wamakko of Sokoto, Ahmed Sani Yarima of Zamfara, Danjuma Goje of Gombe, Bukar Abba Ibrahim of Yobe, Adamu Aliero of Kebbi, George Akume of Benue and Isiaka Adeleke of Osun.
The former deputy governors in the Senate are Ms Biodun Olujimi of Ekiti and Enyinaya Harcourt Abaribe of Abia. Danladi Abubakar Sani served as the acting governor of Taraba state.
Many former governors are also in Buhari's Cabinet as Ministers. This includes: Ngige, Fayemi, Amaechi and Fashola (SAN).).
In Akwa Ibom State, the law provides that ex governors and deputy governors receive pension equivalent to the salaries of the incumbent. The package also includes a new official car and a utility vehicle every four years; one personal aide; a cook, chauffeurs and security guards for the governor at a sum not exceeding N5 million per month and N2.5 million for his deputy governor.
In Rivers, the law provides 100 percent of annual basic salaries for the ex-governor and deputy, one residential house for the former governor “anywhere of his choice in Nigeria”; one residential house anywhere in Rivers for the deputy, three cars for the ex-governor every four years and two cars for the deputy every four years.
It is alledged that in Lagos, a former governor will get two houses, one in Lagos and another in Abuja, estimated at N500 million in Lagos and N700 million in Abuja. He also receives six new cars to be replaced every three years; a furniture allowance of 300 percent of annual salary to be paid every two years, and a N30 million pension annually for life.
This is the reality for all the 21 ex govenors and deputy governors who are currently serving as senators. This same is also true of ex governors who are now serving as Ministers.
NOW I ASK:
How many years did these guys serve their states as governors and deputy governors? Is it more than 8years? Is that a reason to be entitled to pensions for life? Even if they are entitled to pension for life, must it be so outrageous?
As if that is not enough: HOW on earth can any public servant with conscience collect salaries and allowances as a senator or minister, and still have the audacity to claim pensions equivalent to the salaries of a serving governor in Nigeria?
IT ISN'T ROCKET SCIENCE......
Once you are elected a senator or appointed a minister, you must forfeit any pension accruing to you from government at any level until you vacate office. This should also apply to senators collecting military pensions like former Senate President David Mark.
Yet these senators are in the Senate that is inviting the current finance minister to discuss the recession of Nigeria's economy. A senator pockets approximately 30 million naira monthly as salary and allowances. Our "honourables" are not interested to make laws that could restructure our country into economically autonomous federating States/Regions to save the country from sectional agitations that is threatening to destroy Nigeria. The sad and hopeless situation is that the rest of Nigerians are busy arguing based on party, ethnic and affiliations while these enemies of state continue to rape us.
Do you know that it costs tax payers 290m Naira yearly to maintain each member of our National Assembly in a country where nothing works & 80% of population earn below 300 Naira a day ? A working day earning of a senator is more than a yearly income of a doctor; it's more than the salary of 42 Army generals or 48 professors or 70 commissioners of police or more than twice the pay of the US president or 9times the salary of US congressmen.
Please say NO to looting of Nigeria in the name of democracy by sending this text to at least 5 others.
I think the country must have a referendum on salaries of senators. This must happen very quickly. If you ever wondered why none of them talks of restructuring, now you know.
Let's agitate until it is done.

OAP, Freeze Describes Nigerian Pastors As "Yahoo Boys In Pentecostal Suits"
Cool FM’s On-Air Personality, OAP, born Ifedapo Oyerinde, popularly known as Freeze, has addressed pastors in Nigeria as Yahoo boys in Pentecostal suits.
The controversial presenter on his interactive ‘Sunday Praise Jam’ show discussed tithing in churches as not being used for the right cause.
He said

“Instead of paying your tithe to a glamorous church, why don’t you use it to feed the poor and pay the bills for the sick.
“The tithe payment could be directed into solving a real problem.”
He made this statement via his twitter page @Freeze_coolfm.
A fan @horlami_4 replied saying there are other money to take care of the needy, tithe is to be taken into the house of the Lord. Despite arguments from fans, OAP Freeze held on, saying, “Who fed you this garbage? I’m sure it’s one of those ‘Yahoo boys’ in Pentecostal suits you call pastor.
“Jesus did not say this, don’t be duped,” he added.

By the time I got there, the Chief Security Officer was just beginning to interview both parties, starting from the boy, Monday.
"He told of how he made his 'intentions' known to her and she said she would 'think about it' but he according to him, he didn't understand why she couldn't give a straight answer, so he began making moves at 'romancing' her and feigns ignorance of her claims that from the moment he started, she told him to stop. He claims he only noticed her seriousness 'when he crossed the boundary'. He is upset that he had sent her 400 naira recharge card before and doesn't get why she will reject him.
"The young lady insists she came by at all because he said he was not well. By the time she got in, he was playing loud music, so from the moment he began trying to have sex, she was shouting but the loud music drowned her voice. She insists he pinned her to the mattress and she tried strangling him with his necklace till it cut. After that, she reached for the laptop as a weapon and ripping it out turned off all the music then he released her because she could now be heard. She ran out and called for help. She got help and retrieved her phone and slippers and purse. Then she began reporting to their mutual friends and people she trusts. She insisted she injured him to. On demand, he took off his shirt and everyone saw injuries she gave him and more.
"I got upset that the attitude towards gathering evidence is zero. There seemed to be a majority notion that as long as there was eventually no penetration, it is not so grievous a crime. All I insisted was to document all that could be seen as evidence before any statements are taken etc.
"I applaud the lady for speaking up. We need ensure the students and security men understand sexual harassment in its entirety and be sure whatever responses are in place take into cognizance victim needs.
"I was very agitated when it seemed people were upset that 'she was trying to make a lot out of something very small. More people need to understand what sexual violence is and legal provisions for victims and offenders. More details tomorrow. These pictures were finally taken at the crime scene. More shocking experiences tomorrow morning.
"Many are trying to use victim blaming and shaming to force her to drop the case. Please, let us change the narrative and share this widely to punish the perpetrator, not the victim."

MMM did not crash in Zimbabwe, it's just a media attack
Sometimes I wonder why MMM is now the "devil". People never drank this amount of Panadol on other people's headache during the upsurge of betting in Nigeria. Sometimes, I wonder if Nigerians have suddenly become so caring and being their brother's keeper? ๐คEven chronic bettors are there blowing MMM's trumpet negatively. Hypocrites...I must say.
Where were all these people when our youths were busy gambling away their school fees and house rents on Nairabet and Bet9ja. Where was SEC and CBN. They never mentioned anything. This is all because, there is no way to tax the system and get money from it. The betting platforms would definitely be against it cos their customer base would be reduced directly or indirectly. Thus, there would always be media propaganda.
We partakers understand that life is a risk and MMM is a risk worth taking. That's why we are always admonished to participate with only our spare cash. This is because, if for any reason, there is a "pause mode" or "System restart", we wouldn't have to cry foul. The pause mode and system restarts occurs when the amount of PH is less than GH. During pause mode, there would be no GH, only PH. Mavros would be paused from growing. As, the system recovers, old Mavros would then be released and everything continues. You don't "loose" your money. It's release would only be delayed.
I had some time to go through MMM China. That went into pause mode because media propaganda caused a lot of GH. Pause mode was set, the system recovered and old Mavros are being released. China MMM is back full time now.
MMM Nigeria started after MMM has gone through these countries. Thus, MMM Nigeria is surviving still as a result of the backdrop of the lessons learnt from other countries. For example, MMM Zimbabwe started out initially at 100% ROI. That eventually didn't work....and so on. (Someone can help with the details)
Presently, the number of PH is far greater than the number of GH such that, MMM is imposing sanctions and forcing people to GH after 30days so that new people can be matched.
The most important thing is for us to always shun Greed and participate with only spare money. We should also realize that the stability of the system is not entirely on the PH of new members, but constant rePH of old members. I tell you most solemnly, we would always need money and thus, 96% of the time, old members would always rePH. MMM is not to make you rich quickly. It's a donation platform.
The idea is... You get money from the system, send it to work( eg buy shoes or phones or start a business), the person you bought the shoe or phone from( if an MMM particpant) may also donate, gets help later, solves his present financial problem and the cycle continues. If the rules are followed and adhered to, MMM can last as long as we want it.

I Can’t Predict When Recession Will End - Finance Minister, Kemi Adeosun
The Minister of Finance, Mrs. Kemi Adeosun, has said that she cannot predict when the nation will get out of the current economic recession.
She, however, said that some of the efforts of the government to reflate the economy had started yielding results.
The minister, who spoke in an interview in Abuja, stated, “I don’t want to predict when we will get out of recession. Let me tell you that we will get into growth and that’s how you get out of recession, because of the stimulus that we are providing.
“And it may take longer than we would like, but we will definitely get out of it. We are already seeing some positive signs in agriculture and solid minerals;and with what we are trying to do with other sectors, I am very sure we will get out of it soon.”

Economic Recession? Man Commits Suicide In Benin
A man has reportedly killed himself by hanging in the Ogida area of Benin City.
The incident is the third to be reported in the last six days.
Last Thursday, man in his mid-30s, identified as Godwin, was said to have committed suicide because his wife jilted him at Kabayi, Mararaba, near Abuja.
Earlier, corpse of a 52-year-old man was found by the riverside by residents of Salvation Avenue in the Ajegunle, Ikorodu area of Lagos State.
The latest occurred in the early hours of Friday, September 23.
Residents rushed to the scene to catch a glimpse of the man who was found hanging from the ceiling of a sawmill in the market.
Witnesses said the man was earlier seen in the area wandering in a sober mood, not knowing that he had plan to take his life.
The deceased, however, did not leave a suicide note behind.
Cooked beans, loaves of bread and clothes were found beside his corpse.
The Edo State Police Command spokesman, Theodore Okafor, who confirmed the incident, said that the corpse had been deposited in a mortuary for a post-mortem.

Pastor Becomes Unconscious, Gets Stuck While Trying To Destroy Idols In A Shrine In Ogun
A pastor, identified as Wale Fagbere, became motionless while trying to destroy a shrine in Ketu, a community in Ayetoro, Yewa North Local Government Area of Ogun State.
Our correspondent gathered that the pastor whose church could not be ascertained as of the time of filing this report reportedly became motionless and speechless after he had allegedly destroyed some shrines in the town.
It was gathered that the cleric was reported to have told his congregation that he had a revelation to destroy all the shrines in Ketu community.
After being found transfixed in the shrine, residents of the area raised the alarm, following which custodians of the shrines came to the place.
The priests insisted that they had to perform some rites before the cleric could regain his sense.
The rites were performed following the intervention of Alaye of Ayetoro, Oba Abdulaziz Adelakun, who appealed to the priests to ‘release’ him.
The state acting Police Public Relations Officer, Abimbola Oyeyemi, confirmed the incident, adding that the cleric might be charged for “sacrilege and malicious damage.”
He said, “The command got the report at its division in Ayetoro that one Evangelist Wale Fagbere went to Ketu to destroy traditional worshippers’ shrines. After the destruction, the man became motionless and could not talk.
“When the policemen visited the place, the traditionalists said the subject could not be taken away until some rites were performed. The victim was revived and handed over to his family for more spiritual cleansing.”

Teenage Girl Struck By Lightning Gets Buried Alive By Family 'To Cure Crippling Pain
A teenager agreed to be buried alive after she was struck by lightning and her family members told her it was the only way to cure her of her crippling back pains.
Ana Ballesteros, 18, was covered up to her neck for three days a week in her garden.
The bizarre home cure saw her placed in a giant hole which was filled with earth. Relatives believed this would “take the energy” the lightning left in her.
The teenager was struck by a bolt as she walked to college recently.
She was treated in hospital but continued to suffer back pain she claimed prevented her from walking
properly.
She began quirky ‘therapy’ sessions - which involved her being buried for up to four hours a day over three days. Ana said:
“Doctors study medicine but not lightning.
“I know that getting into that hole I’m going to get better because these are ancient things.”
Her gran Blanca de la Rosa said:
“What we’re doing is taking the fire out of the light, the heat out of the energy.”
Ana’s mum Milena added:
“Locals told me before I took her to hospital that we’d be better off burying her instead to take the energy from the lightning away.
“I’m praying she comes out okay.
She can’t walk properly and the burns she suffered on her feet cause her pain. I trust in God.” It is not known if the treatment, which began earlier this week, worked.
Local doctors expressed their scepticism. With one saying:
“There’s no scientific proof that burying a patient who has been struck by lightning has any beneficial effects for their recovery.”

A member of the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) identified as Mr. Ogundare Lawrence Opeyemi, has slumped and died in Bayelsa State.
Opeyemi, it was gathered, died in Nembe, Nembe Local Government Area, where he was posted for his primary assignment.
It was learnt that the deceased corps member slumped a day after he had a party with his colleagues in the area.
“A day after the party, he complained of a health-related issue and before we knew what was happening he slumped and died”, a source who spoke in confidence said.
His death caused panic among corps members, who raised the alarm over incessant death of their colleagues in the state.
His remains were later conveyed to and deposited at the mortuary of the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Yenagoa.
But on Friday, corps members cried uncontrollably when kinsmen of the deceased came to convey the remains to his home state, Ekiti for burial.
Hundreds of corps members trooped to the mortuary section of the hospital in solidarity with their departed colleague.
Officials of the NYSC in the state were led by the corps’ state Coordinator, Mr. Anthony Ekeocha. Ekeocha reportedly described the death as painful and decried incessant death of corps members in Bayelsa.
He said: “We are here to carry out an assignment and it is a painful assignment. Not quite long we were here to carry out same assignment, too much death in NYSC.
“We all pray that we should not die prematurely but at an old age. I put myself in the shoes of the parents after much investment but at the end this is what they got but we cannot question God”.

Nigeria will come out of recession before December - CBN
Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Godwin Emefiele, has expressed optimisms that Nigeria will come out of the current economy recession the fourth quarter of this year.
His said this could be only possible when the result of the various measures put in place by the Federal Government and the monetary authorities become manifest.
According to him, one of such result is the decision of the CBN to establish a bridge fund for the government to utilise to stimulate the economy whenever there is a need for it.
The apex bank boss had earlier warned Nigerians to stop blaming the current economic mess on President Muhammadu Buari.
Emefiele, who spoke to media executives in Lagos on Saturday, said, “We are already in the valley, the only direction is to go up the hill and the government is doing everything possible to ensure that we move up the hill. I am optimistic that based on the actions being taken by the monetary and fiscal authorities, the fourth quarter results will show evidence that we have started to move out of the recession.
“The worst is over. The Nigerian economy is on the path of recovery and growth. So, please if you are a bystander or sideliner, you are losing; join the train now before it leaves the station.”
Continuing, the CBN boss said “Both the monetary and fiscal authorities are working together and that is why you can see a situation where today, even when we have revenue shortage or deficit, the monetary authority is trying to bridge the gap.

"how I fell in love with music" - Tiwa Savage
Mavins Tiwa Savage has recalled how she started doing music.
The new Roc Nation star revealed for the first time how her high school crush made her fall in love with music.
“I played trombone. Don’t ask me if I still play (laughs), but I literally picked it up because I had a crush on a boy in high school. He used to hang around with the cool kids, the musicians and dancers,” She said
“I was this kid fresh from Nigeria, strong accent, my mom shaved my hair off. I tried to get his attention. I went to this music teacher and said that I really wanted to do music. He looked to the corner of the room and said the trombone was the only instrument left. I picked it up, but eventually got bullied for it because it was always getting in the way on the bus,”
“That was having the opposite effect of what I wanted because this guy’s now laughing at me instead of falling in love with me. So, I gave up and joined the choir, that’s how I started doing music.” She concluded

Corruption: EFCC arrests own official over bribery by lawmaker
– An EFCC official Uzodinma Agbazue has got himself into trouble for receiving N15million bribe from a lawmaker under investigation
– Agbazue was arrested on Thursday, September 22 by fellow EFCC operatives after the lawmaker lifted the lid on their dirty deal
– EFCC says that Agbazue was charged for
“offences bordering on criminal conspiracy and extortion” .
EFCC has arrested its official Agbazue for receiving bribe
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested a deputy detective superintendent Uzodinma Agbazue, an operative with the commission for receiving bribe.
Premium Times reports that Agbazue was arrested by EFCC on Thursday, September 22 for
“offences bordering on criminal conspiracy and extortion” .
The commission announced the arrest in a statement by its spokesperson, Wilson Uwujaren. Agbazue got into trouble after an unnamed lawmaker alleged that the operative collected N15 million from him with a promise to compromise an investigation.
“Following the approach, a sum of N15 million was given to Agbazue whose game plan collapsed after the Investigating officer, who was ignorant of his scheme, refused to do his bidding,” Mr. Uwujaren said.
“With the investigation gathering increased momentum after parting with the hefty sum, the complainant became uncomfortable and demanded a refund.
“The complainant stated that, when he requested for the refund of his money, Agbazue only returned N5 million claiming that the balance of N10 million had been given to someone “to kill the case from the top”,” the statement read.
The statement also quoted the lawmaker as alleging that Agbazue collected N1 million at a another time to settle his wife’s medical bill.
“Agbazue’s action is in contravention of the Commission’s mandate and ideals as the EFCC will not solicit or accept gratification from a suspect to compromise a case under investigation,” EFCC said.
“The suspect will be subjected to administrative action as precursor to possible prosecution at the end of the investigation.”
Meanwhile, the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide (IYC) has accused the EFCC of witch-hunting former President Goodluck Jonathan and his wife, Patience.
Speaking on Thursday, September 22, at a news conference in Yenagoa, Bayelsa, the group’s president, Udengs Eradiri, criticized the manner the anti-graft agency was defaming the ex-president and his family.

Ben Bruce Blasts Buhari Over His Anti-corruption War
Vocal senator, Ben Murray-Bruce has said the manner in which President Muhammadu Buhari’s anti-corruption war is being fought is scaring away investors.
The senator representing Bayelsa East, Ben Bruce (PDP) on Thursday called on President Muhammadu Buhari to adjust his approach to the anti-corruption crusade, saying policy was scaring investors.
Mr. Bruce, who said this while contributing to the Senate’s debate on the economic recession in the country, said that Nigeria should not expect foreign investments as even local investors had stopped investing.
He said people who had money to invest were no longer doing so because the anti-graft agencies were harassing any person with cash transactions running into millions.
“
“Buhari’s approach to anti-corruption is wrong: let us forget the foreign investors, what about the local investors?” Mr. Bruce asked.
“If people are afraid, they will not invest; fear will not be a policy to grow the economy.
“Money is a coward; it only goes to places where there is peace and tranquillity.
“I have a friend who paid legitimate N50 million into his account and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) came and picked him up.
“We cannot be afraid to be Nigerians; we cannot be afraid to live in our country,” he said.
”
Mr. Bruce recalled that former President Olusegun Obasanjo also fought corruption but that his anti-corruption fight was not one that put fear in the minds of real investors.
He said he supported President Buhari’s anti-corruption fight but insisted that the approach should be changed to encourage investments.
On the prices of food in the market, he said that poor Nigerians were feeling the brunt far more than the rich.
He said the prices of bags of rice, beans and garri had risen by over 50 per cent while the retail prices of the same commodity rose by over 150 per cent.
The lawmaker said while the rich bought the commodities in bags, the poor, whose minimum wage had not changed, had to buy at 150 per cent increased rate.
He attributed the increase in retail prices of items to the cost of transportation, and called for a transport policy to check transportation costs.

Woman Asks Court To Dissolve 9-Year-Old Marriage Over Neglect, Sexual Starvation
A 37-year-old housewife, Rofiat Hussein, on Friday asked an Ojaoba Sharia Court of Arbitration in Ibadan to dissolve the nine-year-old union with her husband, Nurain, based on sexual starvation and neglect.
Narrating her ordeal, Rofiat said that her husband had neglected her in every area of marital life, including s*x.
“As soon as we wedded, Nurain directed me to become a full time housewife which meant that I must do nothing to earn a living.
“At the same time, there had been little or nothing to cater for the growing responsibilities in the home, especially the educational needs of the children.
“I pleaded with him to give me a portion of his shop to start selling some petty things, but Nurain rejected the idea.
“I then told him that I secured a teaching job in a private university and it did not go down well with him.
“Nurain and I were products of that same university for our degrees, but I have since proceeded for my Masters and I am even on my PH.D. programme now.
“Nurain has not shown any understanding over this, but instead quarrels with me for no reason.
“During the last two Ramadan fasting periods, Nurain did not even know that I existed.
“My lord, Nurain has locked up our bedroom that could serve as a point of meeting for any sexual activity.
“The only reason he gave for our last quarrel was that I refused to carry his bag for him after opening the entrance door.
“I have since reported him to all his relatives, but nothing has changed,” Rofiat stated.
The defendant was, however, not in the court to react to the allegations levelled against him.
The President of the court, Sheikh Hamad Tiamiyu, asked Rofiat to support her allegations with witnesses.
He said the witnesses, who must be five, must have three females and two males or vice versa.
Tiamiyu also directed her to put her claims in writing while adjourning the case to Sept. 29 for further hearing.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Rofiat and Nurain reside at Odo Ona-Elewe area of Ibadan.
Meanwhile, a young house wife, Princess Oritsema Ekwejunor, has narrated how she suffered battering, torture and pains from her Pastor husband, Omasan Mabiaku.
“I Was Told Billions Of Dollars Generated From Oil Were Used To Buy Food” – Buhari Says
President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed how the company got into the present economic crisis, blaming the current recession in the country not only on the failure of past leaders to save for rainy days, but their failure to develop infrastructures.
Speaking while briefing top Nigerian professionals from different parts of the United States, U.S, he stated that upon assumption of office, he was told that the billions of dollar generated from the export of crude oil over the years was used in buying food, despite that Nigerians grow what is consumed in the country.
He stated that those who stole Nigeria dry are not happy with his government’s efforts in tackling the country’s challenges, explaining that this was why “they recruited the militants against us in the Niger Delta, and began to sabotage oil infrastructure.”
The President had during the May Day celebration at the Eagle Square, Abuja, blamed the previous for the current bad economic situation in the country, asserting that the emergence of the All Progressives Congress, APC, brought an end to the 16 years of squander by the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
“I am very pleased with this meeting,” Buhari said in a statement issued on Friday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Femi Adesina, adding that: “Wherever you go in the world, you find highly competent and outstanding Nigerians. They not only make great impact on their host countries and communities, their financial remittances back home also help our economy, particularly at a time like this, when things are down.
“We got into trouble as a country, because we did not save for the rainy day. For example, between 1999 and 2015, when we produced an average of 2.1 million barrels of oil per day, and oil prices stood at an average of $100 per barrel, we did not save, neither did we develop infrastructure. Suddenly, when we came in 2015, oil prices fell to about 30 dollars per barrel.
“I asked; where are the savings? There were none. Where are the railways? The roads? Power? None. I further asked; what did we do with billions of dollars that we made over the years? They said we bought food. Food with billions of dollars? I did not believe, and still do not believe.
“In most parts of Nigeria, we eat what we grow. People in the South eat tubers, those in the North eat grains, which they plant, and those constitute over 60 per cent of what we eat. So, where did the billions of dollars go? We did a lot of damage to ourselves by not developing infrastructure when we had the money.
“Talking of our military, they earned respect serving in places like Burma, Zaire, Sudan, Liberia, Sierra-Leone, and then, suddenly, that same military could no longer secure 14 out of 774 local governments in the country. Insurgents had seized them, calling them some sort of caliphate, and planting their flags there; till we came, and scattered them.
“We raised the morale of our military, changed the leadership, re-equipped and retrained them; USA, Britain, and some other countries helped us, and today, the pride of our military is restored.
“Boko Haram ran riot, killing innocent people in churches, mosques, markets, schools, motor parks, and so on. And they would then shout Allahu Akbar. But if they truly knew Allah, they would not do such evil. Neither Islam, nor any other religion I know of, advocates hurting the innocent. But they shed innocent blood, killed people in their thousands. Now, we have dealt with that insurgency, and subverted their recruitment base.
“Those who stole Nigeria dry are not happy. They recruited the militants against us in the Niger Delta, and began to sabotage oil infrastructure. We lose millions of barrels per day, at a time when every dollar we can earn, counts. It is a disgrace that a minimum of 27 states, out of 36 that we have in Nigeria, can’t pay salaries.
“But I prayed so hard for God to make me President. I ran in 2003, 2007, 2011, and in 2015, He did. And see what I met on ground. But I can’t complain, since I prayed for the job. In the military, I rose from 2nd Lieutenant to Major-General. I was military governor in 1975 over a state that is now six states. I was head of state, got detained for three years, and headed the Petroleum Trust Fund (PTF), which had N53 billion of that time in Nigerian banks.
“God has been very good to me, so I can’t complain. If I feel hurt by anybody, I ask God to help me forgive. He has done so much for me.
“After 16 years of a different party in government, no party will come and have things easy. It’s human. We need quality hands to run Nigeria, and we will utilize them. I will like to welcome you home when it’s time. But I’ll like you to be ready.”
Adesina, in the statement, disclosed that all the Nigerian professionals pledged to contribute their quota towards re-launching their fatherland to a new dawn.

“I Will Never Read Mourinho’s Book” – Wenger Says
Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, has laughed off reports that Jose Mourinho says he would “break his face”.
Mourinho’s comments were included in a new biography of the Manchester United coach, by football writer Rob Beasley.
He told Beasley during a conversation in 2014: “When Mr Wenger criticises CFC and Man United over the deal with Mata… I will find him one day outside a football pitch and I will break his face.”
Wenger, who has been called ‘a specialist in failure’ by the Portuguese, refused to join issues with Mourinho and says he will not read the book.
“I haven’t read the book and I certainly will not read it so I cannot comment on that. I talk about football and that’s all I do,” Wenger said ahead of Arsenal’s clash with Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.
“I’m not in a destructive mood. Never. I’m more constructive and I cannot comment on that because I’m focused on tomorrow’s game and the way we want to play football.
“I have no personal problem with anybody, I respect everybody in our game and I don’t feel I comment a lot on other teams. Sometimes maybe I say what I think but that’s part of the way I am.
“What is amazing is that this has nothing to do with our game tomorrow and I personally am just focused on just doing well in my job and respecting everybody else.”

Breaking News!! Kwara Shuts 10 Sub-Standard Private Schools
The Kwara State Government on Friday said it had closed down 10 private schools built with wooden slabs and operating without due authorization from the state government.
Hajia Zainab Bello, the Director, Quality Assurance Bureau of the Kwara Ministry of Education and Human Capital Development, told the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Ilorin that the schools were unsuitable for child learning.
Bello said that these schools were closed down due to poor infrastructure and environment not conducive for learning.
She said that the pupils could not assimilate well in an untidy environment.
The director assured of the state’s government commitment to ensure quality education, stressing that government would continue to close illegal private schools.
“These schools are built with wood slabs and the surrounding could not be said to be suitable for human beings, talk-less of little children.
“The children are packed and sandwiched in the untidy classrooms demarcated with slabs.
“There is no way any child can receive sound education in uncompleted buildings, that is why the Quality Assurance Bureau team are fishing out illegal private schools in the state,”, Bello said.
She expressed disappointment at the disobedience shown by some proprietors who went ahead with the schools in spite of several warnings from the state government.
Bello warned school proprietors that the state government had zero tolerance for unauthorized private schools and that those found would be dealt with to serve as deterrent to others.
The director mentioned the affected schools to include New Creation Nursery and Primary School, Adabata; Habitat Nursery and Primary School; Al- Salam Nursery and Primary School; Allahu Samad Arabic School as well as Almalik Nursery and Primary School.
“Others schools affected are Great Success Nursery and Primary School, Isale Aluko; Aduni Success Islamic and Arabic International Model Center Ajikobi.
Bello also listed others as Ridwanulkahi Nursery and Primary School, Isale Aluko; Alubarka Nursery and Primary School, Ajikobi and Almubashirina Nursery and Primary School, Ajikobi.
Man United Vs Leicester- ‘We Will Snub A Chance To Sign Rooney If Presented, Ranieri Boasts
Leicester City manager Claudio Ranieri hailed Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney but feels there is no room for him in his team.
Rooney’s displays for United have been criticised after Jose Mourinho’s men went on a three-match losing run, ended with a victory over Northampton Town.
Nevertheless, Ranieri was full of praise for the England international ahead of the Premier League meeting between the clubs at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Still, the Italian added he prefers the players he has at his disposal over Rooney.
“He is an amazing player. He’s a champion,” Ranieri told reporters. “[But] I love my players, and I wouldn’t change my players with anybody else.
“I’m very pleased with them and we think we can have a very good season.”
United sit seventh in the table ahead of the visit of Leicester, who are themselves 11th in their title defence.

I Did Not Order Whiskey Or Smoked During Our Meeting - Adebayor Releases Statement On Lyon
Emmanuel Adebayor has released a statement regarding recent reports on why he didn’t sign for Lyon. According to Lyon’s manager, Bruno Genesio, Adebayor drank and smoked during talks regarding a move to France.
But Adebayor has responded, saying:
Quote
“Usually I do not comment on any transfer negotiations or speculation but this time certain matters need to be cleared up. Lyon wanted to sign me and offered to pay for a private jet from Togo to bring me to Lyon in order for me to sign ahead of their game against Marseille. The contract was all agreed and I was merely flying in to complete a medical and sign the paperwork.
“Unfortunately, I could not get there in time to be registered for their game and they signed another young striker instead. They still asked if I could come and speak to the manager and director of Football in order to establish if it would be possible to sign us both.
We all had a perfectly amicable meeting in Lyon but the coach felt it was not fair on the young player’s development to sign us both and I felt I would not get the requisite game time I needed to make this opportunity worthwhile. “
“For the avoidance of doubt I only drank water at this meeting and did not ask for whisky or have a cigarette. This was a report that came out of a French newspaper and is not only ludicrous and ridiculous but was meant as a joke by the journalist.
The statements have been retracted and the journalist is currently drafting an apology. Unfortunately the press in other countries couldn’t see that the journalist was being highly sarcastic and rewrote the story…
“The above facts can be supported by the Lyon manager, director of Football and president. I wish Olympique Lyonnais all the best of luck for the forthcoming season.”

Davido admits he doesn't deserve any award nomination this year
This year has been the slowest year ever for Davido since he began making waves in the music scene, and while some fans feel he ought to have being nominated for awards by various music organisations, even the singer admits he doesn't deserve any nomination.
A fan had tweeted that Davido did not make the recently published list of artistes nominated for the 2016 MTV Music Video Awards (MAMA). Some of the stars who made the list include Flavour N’abania, Olamide and Wizkid.
He hasn't dropped any single in 8 months, and he is set to drop his long-awaited album which had been on hold since he landed the deal with Sony
